Mitsubishi iQ-F and SFC Programming
A group blog by Gibson Employees in General
24 minutes ago, Joe Nolan said:This is great new Bryon. We know so many customers that leverage SFC for more efficient programming. Having SFC available on the full range of FX5U PLCs is a powerful combination!
One thing to be aware of is that the FX5UJ series does not allow SFC. The FX5U and FX5UC PLCs do, but the FX5UJ does not.

How are we doing in the COVID-19 crisis and what might the future look like for robotics and advanced manufacturing?

Very interesting post Batu, thank you!
I will add that Gibson Engineering has seen an upswing in requests for custom training during this unprecedented time. We are doing more training than ever and helping to educate both new and experienced employees. I believe some of the increase has been because of the slow down, but I also think companies are seeing the value in the up-skilling that you mention.
As terrible as this has been, I'm left optimistic and even somewhat excited to see where this takes manufacturing in the coming months and years.

Some updates to this post.
Since the original post, Mitsubishi has updated the firmware on the FX5UJ and now you can do User Web Pages on the FX5UJ as well as the FX5U. Also Mitsubishi has now released the FX5S series. With the FX5S series you have reduced expandability in order to bring costs down. The base unit has Ethernet and mini-USB but no SD card and can be purchased in I/O from 30 to 60 points. It is non-expandable for IO but does offer some expansion via front connection and left side.
If you add an FX5-SDCD module to the front of the FX5S, you can then use the User Web Page functionality to provide a simple web based user interface to interact with your PLC.
